The Nutrition and Dietetic service supports adults and children across the London Borough of Ealing. The team comprises of adult and paediatric dietitians, nutrition practitioners and administrative staff.  As a service, we work closely with several partners to provide a comprehensive nutrition and dietetic service.

Depending on need, patients are seen in outpatient clinic settings, home visits, nursing home or special schools.

All our dietitians are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

We offer support for a range of clinical conditions, including:

  • Malnutrition

  • Children with faltering growth

  • Certain nutritional deficiencies

  • Allergies and intolerances (excluding multiple or complex allergy)

  • Obesity

  • Coeliac Disease

  • Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

  • Cardiovascular disease

  • Home enteral tube feeding

Some of our team also work in the diabetes service, including providing the Right Start diabetes education service.

Enteral feeding is a way of providing food through a tube placed in the nose, the stomach, or the small intestine. Our enteral feeding team provides advice, support and oral nutritional supplements, tube feeds and equipment.

If you’re immobile or housebound, we’ll come to your home or care home. For children, we’ll go into special schools and nurseries.

Supplements and feeds are currently provided by Fresenius, under a contract with Ealing CCG, for people receiving care in the community in Ealing. Enquiries about supplies of nutritional supplements or feeds (including NG/PEG feeds and plastics) should be directed to Fresenius.

The nutrition and dietetics and community nursing teams work closely with the specialist enteral feeding nurse employed by Fresenius. They can be contacted on
