West London NHS Trust was the focus of a Sky News report on Tuesday 20 December.

Thomas Moore, Science and Medical Correspondent for Sky News, attended Clayponds Hospital in Ealing with a film crew.

Clayponds Hospital has been helping to support acute hospitals by providing a step-down service to help the flow of admissions.

Thomas and the film crew visited Magnolia Ward where they spoke to patients and also interviewed Dr Chris Hilton, Chief Operating Officer for Local Services.

Dr Hilton discussed how winter pressures are impacting services in the region, with the combined difficulties of Covid-19 and flu, and the latest industrial action.

The Sky News team then accompanied community nurse Zahra Agmadynejad from the Ealing rapid response team on one of her patient visits.

The rapid response team helps to prevent hospital admissions by treating patients at home, which is often the safest place for them.

It is really important that patients who need urgent medical care continue to come forward, especially in emergency or life-threatening cases.

If you need medical help or advice, go to NHS 111 online unless it is a life-threatening emergency when you should still call 999.

If you're experiencing a mental health crisis there's also help available. Contact the mental health Single Point of Access. It's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

You can call the SPA for free on 08003284444.

The Trust is also supporting Hounslow Council's 'You're not alone' campaign this winter.

A recent YouGov poll found that a third of adults asked are expecting to spend less time socialising this Christmas due to concerns about rising prices and the cost of living crisis.
