The latest NHS Staff Survey shows that more than two‑thirds of colleagues at West London NHS Trust would recommend it as a place to work. Staff tell us this is because they feel supported, valued and able to grow their careers, backed by benefits that help them thrive.
Survey feedback highlights that people who join the Trust find clear pathways into specialist and leadership roles at every stage of their careers. There are also structured development routes, from apprenticeships and coaching to leadership programmes, supporting people throughout their careers. Our programmes help colleagues build skills, gain qualifications and move confidently into new roles.
Feedback from new starters in 2025 also shows that one in four people who joined the Trust did so following a recommendation from someone who already works here, a strong sign of the confidence and pride colleagues feel in their workplace.
Across the Trust, people frequently talk about supportive and welcoming teams, meaningful work and opportunities to learn and advance. Below are some of the experiences colleagues have shared over the last year - stories that show what working at the Trust is really like, and why so many staff feel proud to be part of it.
Dietitian, Rita Ananti, says:
“I am proud to work in a team that provides holistic, safe and patient‑centred care… I make a difference every day.”
Physiotherapist, Saravanan Sivanithi, reflects on the impact of therapy:
“There is nothing like seeing someone getting their lost skill back after therapy.”
International colleagues often highlight the support they receive when joining the Trust.
Community Respiratory Physiotherapist, Edelquinn Emmanuel, said:
“Having learnt to work with people from different cultural orientations, I can acknowledge that diversity is a form of strength…”
Occupational Therapist (OT), Ibrahim Mamudu, adds:
“A structured induction, buddy system and regular supervision made it possible not only to settle in but to thrive.”
Alongside development opportunities, staff value the wider benefits that support wellbeing and work-life balance. This includes our reward and recognition offers - for example, our Promotion, Praise and Promise scheme, which was proudly shortlisted for Best Employer for Staff Recognition and Engagement in the Nursing Times Workforce Awards. The Trust also offers:
- Flexible working options
- Generous annual leave
- NHS pension
- Health and well-being support - including counselling
- Staff networks
- Discounts
- Cycle schemes and
- Free eye tests.
These benefits, along with the training and support we offer, are some of the main reasons colleagues recommend West London NHS Trust as a great place to work.
