West London NHS Trust Staff Survey results reveal improvement in all areas
West London has made sweeping progress in all areas of staff experience, according to national Staff Survey results released today.
The newly published findings from the 2025 NHS Staff Survey, one of the largest workforce surveys in the world and carried out every year to improve staff experiences across the NHS, reflect the experiences of more West London NHS Trust staff than ever before. Almost three‑quarters of staff completed the survey (73%) - well above the 50 percent average of the 48 similar organisations within our sector. We also achieved the highest response rate in London and are ranked second across the entire NHS - out of 195 Trusts.
Key highlights include:
- West London NHS Trust is the place to be - Nearly two-thirds of our staff told us that they look forward to coming to work and that a ‘compassionate culture’ is a core Trust strength. Three-quarters of our staff would recommend the Trust as a place to work
- Your place to thrive – Staff reported they feel supported in career development, with over half saying they feel valued by their managers. Over 1,500 colleagues were promoted over the last five years, showing strong opportunities for growth within the organisation.
- Quality way of working - Results show that our staff feel able to make improvements in their work, saying they feel involved in decision-making and feel trusted in how they do their work
- Making a difference - Over 90% of our workforce feel their role makes a difference to patient care.
Commenting on the results, West London NHS Trust Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Maria O’Brien said: “These results show the dedication, compassion and professionalism our colleagues bring to their work every day. It is encouraging to see real progress across all areas of the NHS People Promise, and I want to thank each and every member of staff who took the time to share their experiences.
“Our staff voice matters and helps us keep improving the support we offer and the care we provide to our communities.
We are now analysing the results in detail to shape what we will focus on over the next year to drive further improvement across the Trust.
