Congratulations to our Trust’s Perinatal Diversity and Inclusion Working Group which were awarded this year’s annual Positive Practice in Mental Health (PPiMH) awards in the Perinatal and Maternal Mental Health category.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary last week at Cliffs Pavillions in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, the PPiMH ‘recognises and honours individuals and organisations making significant contributions to mental health support and services across the UK’.

The working group entered were one of four projects shortlisted as a finalist for their ‘Mother tongue, Motherhood, and Mental Health’ work. The project, “Mother Tongue, Motherhood, and Mental Health”, empowers women from ethnically diverse backgrounds to seek maternal mental health support through the sharing of their own experiences of perinatal mental illness in their native languages.

Congratulations to all nominees and winners celebrating their amazing achievements!
