The Trust is celebrating tremendous success following the Southall Community Awards 2022.

The Awards, which took place on Saturday 3 December, celebrate Southall's great community spirit, diversity and the outstanding achievements of individuals/ groups.

This year, there were five awards up for grabs with the West London NHS Trust winning two of the categories, Team of the Year and the Leadership and Inspiration Award.

The Diabetes Inpatient Care and Education (DICE) team smashed the Team of the Year category, for the second year in the row, and were presented the award by Virendra Sharma MP for Ealing Southall.

The team has tirelessly been raising awareness of diabetes, even during the pandemic when they organised informative online events.

The team works with different agencies including GPs, the ICS and stakeholders, to ensure patients living with diabetes get equal access to healthcare.

They also get stuck in with community events helping to spread the word, and have even been recognised in the Diabetes Journal.

A massive well done to Ali Webster, Deputy Director of Organisational Development at the Trust,  and her team, who received the Leadership and Inspiration Award and came second in the Team of the Year category.

The team was nominated for their work facilitating the staff wellbeing zones.

The zones were set up as a wellbeing initiative to support staff retention in the workplace.

The feedback from the wellbeing zones has been incredibly positive and staff have told of feeling mentally and physically happier after visiting.

Carolyn Regan, Chief Executive of West London NHS Trust, said: "I’m delighted that the Trust has been represented so well at this year’s Southall Community Awards. Working with communities is at the heart of what we do here at the Trust and the fact that the DICE team has won Team of the Year for the second consecutive year is a clear reflection of that. I am also pleased to see Ali Webster, and her team being recognised for the staff wellbeing zones, it’s a fantastic initiative and helps our staff take care of themselves. Well done to everyone involved."

Well done to the winners, we're very proud of your achievements.
