The awards celebrate positive practice in mental health and were held in Durham last night (Thursday 6 October). The perinatal team attended the ceremony, picking up an award for their Maternity Trauma and Loss Care (M-TLC) Service with Central North West London (CNWL) NHS Trust.

The M-TLC service work in partnership with CNWL mental health and maternity Trusts to provide specialist assessment and treatment to those experiencing psychological distress.

The service, who recently turned one, combines maternity and psychological therapy for women experiencing moderate-to-severe mental health difficulties directly related to their maternity experience. The service has been developed with the invaluable involvement of Experts by Experience (EbEs). The EbEs are women and families who have faced maternity trauma and loss and support the shape of service using their lived experiences.

The Practice Development (Local Services) and North West London Specialist Community Forensic Teams were also up for awards at the event, both picking up highly commended awards [pictured below].
