Two of the Trust's nurses met with the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care this week.

The meeting fell on the same week as International Nurses Day (Thursday 12 May).

The Rt Hon Sajid Javid and colleagues from the Department of Health and Social Care met with a group of nurses for a special roundtable event.

During the meeting, the Secretary of State listened to nurses about their experiences and thanked them for their contribution and commitment to providing world-class care.

Melville Jimmy Garber, Practice Development Nurse in Local Services, attended along with internationally-educated nurse (IEN) Jason Ople from forensics.

Melville said: "We were delighted, humbled and honoured to be selected by senior colleagues to represent West London at the Department of Health and Social Care.

"Alongside a few other select Trusts we had a meeting with the Rt Hon Sajid Javid and celebrated the fantastic input of IEN nurses to the UK, as well as offered ideas and presented testimonials around nursing in general."
