The Trust marked World Tuberculosis Day (24 March) this week by holding several awareness events across Ealing.

The Trust was out and about in the community and set up three awareness events; two on Wednesday 23 March at Southall Homeless Soup Kitchen and Ealing's St Mungo's Centre, and the third on Thursday 24 March at Southall Central Jamia Mosque.

Abdi Ali is a TB advisor working at the Trust. He said: "My role involves training and outreach work ensuring there is accessible and understandable information about TB in communities.

"One of the aims for these events is to have conversations that will reduce the stigma and help people spot symptoms early.

"staff and service users at Ealing's St Mungo's Centre, a leading Ealing-based charity supporting those impacted by homelessness, attended the event in an effort to widen engagement on TB, particularly within the homeless community as they currently stand at high risk of developing TB."

The team have been busy sharing information and signposting people to local services in Ealing.

There were also quizzes and prizes up for grabs at the events.

Local councillor, Dr Aysha Raza and Ealing Hospital TB Teams also attended, as well as, Acton Youth Association.
