West London NHS Trust is continuing to show its commitment to supporting those affected by the invasion of Ukraine.

The crisis has been very upsetting for all of us and our hearts go out to those suffering, especially colleagues who may have friends, family or loved ones directly impacted by the conflict.

With this in mind, staff in the Trust are doing what they can to support those affected including collections, fundraisers and sharing helpful resources.

There are two main appeals underway; one in our Ealing location of West London Forensic Services and one in Broadmoor Hospital

Staff donations towards the Ukraine appeal are being taken to the Prosperity Ukrainian Restaurant and Cafe in Twickenham and couriered to western Ukraine.

Dawn Harwood, Service Director of West London Forensic Services, said: "We quickly raised more than £1,000 from staff donating money from their e-vouchers

"We split the money to buy essential equipment such as sleeping bags, batteries, ready made baby formula, flasks, toiletries etc and the remaining amount was sent to the Red Cross.

"Thank you everyone for their support and generous donations."

Meanwhile, staff at Broadmoor have been going above and beyond to raise funds and collect donations for Ukraine via a number of fundraising events, including a bake sale, a raffle and even a bike-a-thon, which will be taking place over the coming weeks.

The Trust has also set up a portal for staff to donate money from their ePoints reward scheme, Praise, to the British Red Cross to support their fundraising appeal.

In the meantime, health and care staff from across North West London in need of emotional support, due to the current crisis, are being signposted to the Keeping Well Service designed to help boost and support staff wellbeing.
