The Trust is delighted to have showcased the amazing artwork at Hammersmith and Fulham Mental Health Unit, Askew Ward, created by the mental health art charity Hospital Rooms, during a visit by HRH Princess Eugenie.

Our Chief Executive, Carolyn Regan and Head of Acute Services Hammersmith and Fulham, Kristal Ramcharitar met Princess Eugenie on arrival. HRH spent the morning viewing the artwork that was installed at Askew Ward during the start of the Covid-19 pandemic and talking to patients and staff.

The staff and patients at Askew Ward worked closely with Hospital Rooms to create artwork that is warm and inviting for patients at the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) ward. The patients at Askew Ward were heavily involved in the project, sharing their thoughts throughout the process. The end result is an environment that invokes hope and recovery. A total of 5 art installations have been installed working with world famous artists.

Following Princess Eugenie's visit, Carolyn Regan said, "We are delighted to be able to showcase the fantastic work that Hospital Rooms have been able to achieve with patients on Askew Ward. We are extremely proud of the work we do here at West London NHS Trust and are privileged to be able to share this with Princess Eugenie".
