Residents in West London experiencing mental health crises now have another option for accessing local mental health support.

If you are experiencing something that makes you feel unsafe, distressed, or worried about your mental health, you can now contact NHS 111 and select the mental health option, option 2.

NHS 111 option 2 is a freephone number that provides urgent health advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to people of all ages. In Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith & Fulham these calls will come through to the Trust’s new NHS 111 service.

Your call will be answered by a trained mental health professional who will be able to listen to your concerns and help you get the right support. With your permission, they can also access your electronic patient records to better meet your needs.

Existing service users and patients should continue to contact their care team or the West London Single Point of Access (SPA) line as usual on 0800 328 4444. NHS 111 is another access point for those in crisis and is not replacing the crisis line.

The service is available to anyone in England and facing a mental health crisis.

If you aren't able to make the call yourself, then anyone can call on your behalf - for example a friend, carer, loved one or even your GP. You can also access NHS 111 online via 111.nhs.uk

In emergency situations where there is an immediate risk to life, you should continue to contact 999.
