West London NHS Trust is delighted to share a new promotional video produced by the International Recruitment team.

In the video, Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) from overseas share their experiences of arriving in the UK and working for the Trust.

The International Recruitment team plays an important role supporting new starters to navigate the onboarding process, whilst also providing hands-on pastoral care so their integration to the UK and workplace is as smooth as possible.

The team regularly holds peer support meetings to welcome new staff and keep them up to date on Trust practices.

The team shares any upcoming social networking events, training opportunities and helps the new starters to build working relationships with their managers and services.

This supports the aims and objectives of the CapitalAHP project, to grow and sustain the AHP workforce in London, which means finding new ways of recruiting AHPs and bridging the gap between education and employment whilst supporting staff with their career development.

Some of the areas internationally recruited AHPs may work within West London NHS services are: Acute Mental Health Services, Broadmoor Hospital, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services, Crisis Assessment Treatment Teams, Cognitive Impaired Dementia Services, Clayponds Rehabilitation Hospital, Community Mental Health Teams (MINT), Older Persons Mental Health, Physical Healthcare Team and Specialist Older Adult Mental Health Services.
