Hollywood star Will Poulter has shown his support for the NHS staff in West London during Mental Health Awareness Week.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 actor attended the Ealing Project cinema on Monday 15 May to announce his appointment as an ambassador for Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind.

Will, who plays the character Adam Warlock in the hit film, is originally from Hammersmith and recently visited The Circle crisis cafe for children and young people, a service commissioned by West London NHS Trust.

During the event, Will surprised young Marvel fans at a screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 at the cinema and posed for pictures with staff from the NHS and Mind.

Among those who met Will was Angela Caulder the Children and Young People Programme Delivery Manager at NHS North West London.

Will, who has been candid about his own mental health battles, also praised West London NHS Staff  at the event and recorded a video saying his thanks.

He also shared his support for The Circle which is the first of its kind and provides an alternative environment to A&E admissions for children and young people.

Johan Redelinghuys, Clinical Director for CAMHS, said: "It's wonderful to have the support of Will Poulter who, as far as we're concerned, is a superhero on and off screen. Will has taken a big interest in the Circle Café and his support for young people’s mental health and wellbeing is invaluable. I have no doubt he will be an excellent ambassador for HFEH Mind."
