On Thursday, 29 May 2025, the Hammersmith & Fulham Crisis Assessment and Home Treatment Team (CAHTT) Coffee Group went on an enriching visit to Kew Gardens, combining education, social connection, and wellbeing in a memorable day out.
Carefully coordinated by group facilitators Jean and George, alongside dedicated member AJ, the outing was a great showcase to teamwork and community spirit. The group travelled together from Hammersmith using public transport, which made it an inclusive and accessible experience for all. Members receiving benefits also secured discounted entry.
Once inside, attendees explored Kew’s stunning attractions, including the Princess of Wales Conservatory, the Palm House, the Japanese Garden, and the Waterlily House. They went up the Treetop Walkway for breath-taking views and admired The Hive installation, which beautifully illustrates the connection between nature and well-being.
Beyond the botanical discoveries, the outing empowered relaxation, social interaction, and a refreshing change from routine. Members shared laughter, insightful conversations, and a deep appreciation for nature.
Reflecting on the day, one of the members shared: "We are more than just a group. We are a family. Being in such a beautiful setting with people I care about makes all the difference. This wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of Jean and George."
