This Volunteers’ Week (2 to 8 June) we want to say a huge thank you to all our dedicated volunteers for their time, skills, and compassion in supporting the Trust to deliver exceptional care. Whether it’s offering a listening ear to patients, assisting staff with vital tasks, or making visitors feel welcome. Every hour our volunteers dedicate makes a lasting and meaningful difference to the lives of our patients, staff and local communities.
Volunteering at West London NHS Trust in numbers
Did you know last year, 160 volunteers gave an incredible 4000 hours of service, supporting patients 4010 times and helping staff 4516 times.
Join us in celebrating Volunteers’ Week 2025
During the week, we’ll be sharing stories that show why inclusive volunteering matters and how we’re creating a diverse volunteering community that benefits everyone. We’ve been working to make sure volunteering is open to all, including people looking to start a career with us or those who need extra support due to disabilities.
On Friday 6 June there will be a special celebratory event in the afternoon in recognition of our wonderful volunteers at Trust Headquarters with a light lunch and networking opportunities. If you are a West London volunteer and would like to attend this event please email: wlt.volunteers.hub@nhs.net.

“Giving up our time to help others is no small commitment, especially in today’s busy lifestyle. Yet, our volunteers dedicate thousands of hours each year to do just that. Whether you're supporting patients, welcoming visitors, or working behind the scenes, your dedication makes a meaningful difference every single day.
“The rewards are immense – from gaining valuable skills and deeper insight into the NHS, to the satisfaction of knowing you’re directly improving local patient care. Volunteering not only enhances the wellbeing of others but also boosts our own, knowing we’ve made a positive impact.
“A big thank you to each and every one of you who give your time and energy to support the Trust. We truly wouldn’t be the NHS without your incredible effort and commitment.”
