This year, West London NHS Trust celebrated Black History Month by recognising the contributions of NHS staff from Black African and Caribbean backgrounds, as well as celebrating cultural diversity through food and fashion.

We had a vibrant and engaging calendar of events throughout October to celebrate, educate and motivate staff.

As a tribute to those who represent this diverse group, the Trust shared the journeys of BAME staff with African and Caribbean heritage working within our Trust. Here are some of their stories

Wednesday 20 October, 3pm-4pm Cooking with Nathan and Ali

Deputy Director of Workforce, Nathan Christie-Plummer and Deputy Director of Organisational Development, Ali Webster gave a live, on-line cooking demonstration for staff showcasing their Caribbean culinary skills.

Friday 22 October, 11am-12pm Togetherness Fashion Celebration – showing off your traditional dress

The Trust invited staff to an online celebration entitled 'Togetherness', where staff were encouraged to attend wearing traditional dress to show the cultural diversity of our organisation and to talk about the history and heritage of their outfits.
