The Solace Centre, Equinox – mental health social inclusion

The Solace Centre is Ealing’s daily out-of-hours mental health resource centre combating loneliness and isolation through social inclusion.

Open 7 days a week, 365 days a year (including Christmas / Easter and Bank Holidays) – visitors welcome Monday to Friday 4-6pm (open referral unless on a section).

The Solace Centre is a connecting hub (with over 102 members) based in West Ealing where people with mental health problems (and dual diagnosis) who live in the London Borough of Ealing can meet in a relaxed, accepting environment to socialise, supporting one another and making new friends. It can help with respite, long-term self-management, resilience and sustainability.

Our Service Users chose the motto “Together accepting difference”, because Solace Service Users and Staff respect one another - with all our differences.

The Solace Centre encourages people to become experts in one's own mental health self-management, build confidence as well as nurture resilience, helping engage and foster peer support, resilience and sustainability.

Our Members are involved in many day-to-day running and group activities, sharing and developing skills and learning. Peer support is often found to help promote and enhance wellness and capabilities. When needed, staff can help resolve day-to-day mental health problems, which are wide-ranging, from advice on budgeting through to thoughts of suicide.

The centre's objectives are to prevent relapse, hospitalisation, isolation and loneliness.

The Solace Centre, Equinox works in partnership with West London NHS Trust and Ealing Council.

Thinking about visiting?

We offer an open door policy (unless on a Section where professional referral is required). Visitors are welcome 4-7pm (this allows time to be shown around and be inducted before closing). We recommend and welcome a friend or professional to join new visitors to reduce initial concerns.

If you would like to speak further or book your induction beforehand (to make sure staff are available) then please call us 3-8pm on 0208 567 6189.

Attendance at the Solace Centre may also be part of your Care Plan. The Solace Centre accepts referrals from occupational therapists, mental health care workers and GPs.

Solace Members are voted in by our Solace Members (membership is £15 per year).
