Psychotherapy

Our psychotherapy service provides an intensive psycho-dynamic psychotherapy service, offering individual and group therapy, for adults who live in the London Borough of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

The team is led by a consultant psychiatrist in psychotherapy and comprises consultant and principal adult psychotherapists. It is linked with the borough’s mental health resource centres based in the community.

People who are likely to benefit from a psychodynamic approach will be those interested in making sense of their lives, their distress and other difficulties. With the support of a therapist, they will be enabled to achieve this either in conjunction with other patients, in a group, or individually.

The aim of therapy is to enable patients to make healthier choices, take more control of their lives and enjoy more mutually satisfying relationships through their improved self-understanding.

Besides a treatment service, the psychotherapy department offers non-specialist mental health professionals or teams advice on the clinical management of complex cases, where an understanding of interpersonal dynamics is required.
