West London NHS Trust’s Local Security Management Specialist, Jim Tighe, was a finalist in the Every Day Hero for Ancillary Staff category at the National Unsung Heroes Awards, held on Friday 1 March at The Hilton, Deansgate, Manchester.
These awards give recognition to the non-medical unsung heroes within the NHS.
Jim was nominated for his tireless efforts and always going above and beyond the call of duty, putting the needs of other first without a second thought.
Trust Chief Executive, Carolyn Regan said: “This is a well-deserved nomination. Jim is a highly respected member of the Trust. He is unfazed by anything and a real problem solver, always finding ways to keep patients and staff safe. This is a reminder that a whole range of security staff and other non-medical staff in the NHS are vital in helping us to provide great patient care.”
On receiving the award Jim said: “I’m overwhelmed and humbled to have been nominated and to have been shortlisted as a finalist for this award. Hearing all the other nominations throughout the evening, reminded me how much compassion and care staff in the NHS have. It’s great that we are recognised nationally through these awards.”
