The Olympic Torch Relay will be passing through Richmond, Hounslow and Ealing today (Tuesday) and is expected to cause traffic congestion and delays. Please leave extra time if you are visiting any of the areas affected.
Affected areas are likely to become busy as early as two hours before the Torch is due to arrive and this will impact all modes of transport.
Although roads will not be permanently closed, a rolling road block will be used, which will cause congestion.
Route and timings
9.50am – 11.25am
The Torch will travel from Richmond Road (A307), through Upper Ham Road, onto Petersham Road and then the High Street. From there it will makes it’s journey towards Kew Bridge Road and onto Hounslow.
11.25am – 1.30pm
The Torch will travel from Kew Bridge Road into the High Street and along to Lampton Road where the Torch will stop for lunch at the Hounslow Civic Centre.
4.55pm – until late
The Torch will arrive via convoy onto Northala Fields around 4.55pm and then onto Kensington Road, Lady Margaret Road, High Street, Uxbridge Road, New Broadway, High Street, Ealing Green, St Mary’s Road, Church Lane, Culmington Road and Lammas Park Gardens where it will remain for evening celebrations.
The Torch is not due to pass St Bernard’s Hospital until just after 6pm, but the area is likely to be busy from as early as 3pm until around 7pm.
The torch will pass through Hammersmith & Fulham on Thursday 24 July.
