Together with Hammersmith & Fulham Clinical Commissioning Group, we are hosting a workshop to decide the best way of providing treatment for women who experience a mental illness during or after pregnancy within the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow, and we would like you to get involved.
More than 1 in 10 women develop a mental illness during pregnancy or within the first year after having a baby. In the UK, mental illness in pregnant and postnatal women often goes unrecognised.
The workshop, called ‘The Silent 70,000’, aims to develop a model for perinatal services across the three boroughs with a view to writing a service specification and business case.
We will have a variety of speakers including Maria from the ‘Everyone’s Business Campaign’, a national campaign that lobbies for equal access to perinatal mental health services.
