West London Mental Health NHS Trust’s crisis response teams are operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as of 6 August.
Up to now, anyone calling our 0300 1234 244 helpline would have been unable to access crisis care in the community or at home, at night or at weekends. It would have been necessary for them to come to A&E to receive the support they needed.
Feedback from patients and carers was that they wanted an alternative to coming to A&E out-of-hours.
Now, dedicated mental health advisers and clinicians will be available to meet patients and carers in a community setting, and in certain emergency circumstances, at home.
Anyone who is worried and experiencing mental health crisis out-of-hours and would like the help of the crisis response team should call our Single Point of Access on 0300 1234 244 who will work with you determine the best response to meet your needs.
Calls will be charged at the same rate as geographic numbers (landlines starting with 01 or 02) and are included in your contract minutes.
