West London Mental Health NHS Trust is holding an open evening on 2 June as part of its drive to appoint a new non-executive director.
The event will take place in the trust’s headquarters (1 Armstrong Way, Southall, UB2 4SA) between 5.30 and 6.30pm and will offer interested people the chance to find out details about the role.
Non-executive directors sit on the trust’s board which plays a key role in shaping the strategy, vision and purpose of an organisation. They hold the organisation to account for the delivery of strategic plans and are also responsible for assuring that risks to the organisation and the public are managed and mitigated effectively.
Candidates are asked to demonstrate a genuine commitment to patients, to the promotion of excellent health care services and have senior experience in human resources, direct healthcare experience or social care.
Trust chairman Nigel McCorkell said: “This is a part time role and the successful candidate will have considerable flexibility to decide how they spend their time, including some evening engagements and preparation time. We estimate that as a minimum the role requires 2.5 days a month, although this may increase for periods during the NHS foundation trust application process.”
The initial appointment will be for a period of up to two years, with a view to extending for a further two years subject to the needs of the organisation and a good performance. Remuneration for this post, which is one of seven non-executive director posts that comprise the trust board, is £6,157 per annum.
