A publication from NHS Providers titled “Provider Voices: Where Next for Commissioning?” has recently launched and features an interview with WLMHT’s Chief Executive Carolyn Regan.
The report focusses on the future of commissioning and is based on eight interviews undertaken with NHS Providers’ members and stakeholders. It explores their views on the future of commissioning and how it must change to deliver better health outcomes.
In her interview, Carolyn talks on the value of commissioning as it evolves, explaining that “…there is a big element of co-production, with patients engaged in strategic planning, recruitment of staff, service redesign and evaluation.”
Carolyn also discusses some of the successes that have emerged from our Single Point of Access service, emphasises our teer towards prioritising physical healthcare as much as mental healthcare, the importance of partnership working and the challenges facing commissioners. The Health Service Journal also wrote about the publication of the new report and included Carolyn’s interview.
