We’re making the difference through our mental health membership and anti-stigma campaign, Open Minds, and we’re excited to announce that Angie Bray, MP for Ealing and Acton, has becomes our 6,000th member.
Serving Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith and Fulham, we’re working towards becoming a Foundation Trust, which makes us more responsive to the needs of our members – that’s the people who use their services, carers, community members, staff and other stakeholders.
As a member of the Trust, you can get involved in different ways, from simply receiving information or participating in surveys, to going to meetings, volunteering for events or even running for Governor on their members Council – this council works closely with the Trust Board to provide advice and assistance.
Angie said: “Becoming a Foundation Trust is essential to West London Mental Health Trust. Not only will the Trust have more freedom to be able to invest in local services for our local communities, but they will also become more responsive of our community’s needs.
“The Trust needs around 10,000 members by the end of the year, so I can only encourage all locals to sign up as a member, not only to help further improve services, but to also help increase awareness of mental health issues. One in four people will experience a mental health issue at some point in their life, and we need to make sure we support the services that our family, friends of fellow community members may use.”
