Hounslow CAMHS tips on National Autistic Society website.

19 Jun 2015

The work of teachers from our Hounslow child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) has been featured on the National Autistic Society’s (NAS) website, for use by school teachers and parents of children with autism.

School childrenClaire Jackson, specialist teacher said: “We were really pleased to have been approached by this highly regarded, national charity to help them with content for their website, which is a source of help and support to teachers and parents across the UK.

“Within our Hounslow CAMHS service we have a small team of teachers with specialist training, skills and experience working with children and young people with mental health disorders and disabilities, including autism.

“These teachers work directly with schools to advise them on how to support and prepare pupils going through the transition to different phases of education, and also how to make reasonable adjustments to the environment to support the new pupil.”
