The ITV documentary about Broadmoor, which aired last November, has been shortlisted for a 2015 Mind Media Award.
The awards celebrate the best examples of portrayal of mental health in print, broadcast and digital media. Mind organises these awards to reward those who report responsibly and sensitively on mental health issues.
The two-part documentary showed the reality of life in Broadmoor hospital, and the results it achieves with patients.
Helene Feger, director of communications, said: “So much of the media coverage about the hospital perpetuates myths and stereotypes. Allowing 10 million viewers to see the reality of life for patients at Broadmoor was a real achievement that the trust and ITV can take pride in.”
Winners will be announced at a celebratory event at The Troxy on Monday 16 November.
