Referrals

The Child Development Team (CDT) accepts referrals from any professional.

If your child is in a pre-school or school setting, we prefer that those settings complete an Early Help Assessment Plan (EHAP) process and then refer to the CDT if that is an outcome of the assessment.

If your child is not in an educational setting, the EHAP can be completed by the Early Years Service (contact your Health Visitor). Educational settings should avoid trying to route referrals via GPs.

Even if the CDT is not the correct service, you will still receive a bespoke reply either signposting to the correct service or giving advice.

If you are concerned about your child's development you should speak to your health visitor, Children’s Centre or school, and GP about your concerns.

Referrals are made by post and sent to the address above.
