"I felt nervous about the move to West London as there had been a lot of change in our service around that time and we were leaving the familiarity and identity of our old Trust which we knew really well to join a new organisation.

It took a bit of time, but through the first year we all adjusted and now feel at home in West London NHS Trust." Read more

Lucy Allen -

Borough Lead

"Working with West London and CNWL has been of a great benefit for me as it has given me an opportunity for career progression.

Both trusts have been flexible with working hours and I received a promotion, and the opportunity to work with other departments across the Trust."

What your colleagues are asking

Welcome to Allied Health Professionals

Ryan Kemp, Director of Therapies,

Central &West London Foundation NHS Trust (CNWL)

Helen Lycett, Trust AHP Lead,

West London NHS Trust (WLT)

We‘re really looking forward to welcoming more Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) to our Trusts in 2019.

Both Trusts have invested in AHP leadership: West London appointed a Head of Allied Health Director of Therapies Professionals in 2016 and CNWL appointed a Director of Therapies in 2017.  We recognise how highly skilled you are and your significant contribution to high-quality healthcare.

We have vibrant AHP communities, with a range of activities (highlights given below) and are planning more activity over the coming months:

  • - In CNWL, we held our first Therapies Conference in 2018, in partnership with Brunel University and also ran a Therapies Week
  • (see more on Twitter at #therapiesweek)

  • - West London’s AHP strategy was published in 2017. Over the past year, we’ve launched an in-house CPD programme apprenticeships for AHP support workers and an education and coaching programme for AHP pre-registration students.

We’re hoping to come out to meet you as soon as possible. In the meantime, we both wanted to say how pleased we are that more AHP colleagues will be joining us and are working to ensure that you will all feel at home in your new Trusts in 2019.
