Transformation and redevelopment

We want to provide mental health services of the highest quality, and to do that it’s essential that our patients and service users are accommodated in fit for purpose, well designed buildings, which serve to enhance the care we provide.

Works to upgrade Medway Lodge, located on the St Bernard’s site in Southall, is scheduled for completion in spring 2019. Another major capital project is well under way at Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire and will result in fit for purpose accommodation for patients and staff.

We are also trying to find ways of delivering better care that meets the needs of service users and carers and makes the most of research and clinical developments, when resources are pressured and we face a challenging economic climate.

Through conversations with service users, carers, GPs and others we work with, we’ve developed a number of schemes to transform our local services for people with mental health problems.
