World Diabetes Day: NHS England feature Trust’s dietetics team

As part of World Diabetes Day (Tuesday 14 November), the Trust’s dietetics team have written a blog post for NHS England London on the theme of women and diabetes. Alison Sullivan, Head of Nutrition and Dietetics and Kelly Scanlon, Specialist Mental Health Dietitian, discuss how the Trust’s service users can often be at risk of diabetes and talk through the ways in which women can still lead happy lives by working around the condition.

Trust responds to figures released by NSPCC regarding CAMHS services

In response to new figures shared by the NSPCC today regarding referrals and waiting times for young children, Dr Vijay Parkash, West London Mental Health NHS Trust’s CAMHS and Developmental Services Clinical Director, said:

“Intervening early to support children and young people in Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow is a priority. We know that we can prevent a crisis and potential admission if we can reach people earlier and put in place some support. This means having the necessary resources in place to do that.

Creative patient under Trust’s care wins Koestler Award for song-writing

Carolyn Regan, Chief Executive of West London Mental Health NHS Trust, has been featured in the 2017 OUTstanding Leading Public Sector LGBT+ Executives list, presented by the Financial Times (FT).

The list recognises the work of inspirational LGBT+ senior leaders from the public and third sectors who are helping to make their workplace more diverse and welcoming, and who are making a significant contribution to LGBT+ inclusion outside of their workplace. From the top 20, Carolyn has placed at number 19 on the list.

Trust’s Chief Executive responds to Prime Minister’s comments on race inequality in the public sector
